The Head Turners: Teen Choice Awards 2013
13 August 2013
I had to admit, I still have the Teen Choice Awards hangover and the only way to cure the hangover is by blogging about it. Anyway, I'm not really into watching awards shows, maybe because I find it crazy or I don't like the gutted feeling not being part of the audience and whatnot. But I knew I had to watch this year's TCA because my favorite boy band will be playing their newly released song and days before the show there were rumors that Lea Michele was also going to be there. I woke up really early for the show and I'm glad it didn't disappoint me. I just hate how bad our signal was and I didn't get to watch the part where 1D received their awards *sigh* Nevertheless, the show was amazing and I had fun watching it!
So, I've come up with an idea of blogging about the stars who (for me) dressed the best or the head turners of the night and I did a little quirk by adding photos of their "fashion style" before :) Enjoy!!
Ahhhh who wouldn't love One Direction? just looking at their 1st picture, we could definitely say that these boys have transformed from frogs to princes. I also noticed that the outfit they wore during TCA reflected so much of their personality and I love it!
Selena Gomez is no longer the conservative chic we all know about, I'm happy that she stepped out of her comfort zone and became the fiercely real lady that she is. Gotta love the 2-slits dress she wore during TCA and *clap clap* for zero wardrobe malfunction!
Oh its The Ian Somerhalder (emphasis on THE), strutting another all black look. C'mon guys, its simple yet very very very sexy, right?! LOL I suddenly remember the first time I heard about Ian, I googled him and was immediately smitten-ed by his gorg eyes. Since then, I became a huge fan!
This girl has transformed A LOOOOOT. From qtpa2t Hannah Montana to twerking Miley Cyrus. Seeing so much of her skin is kinda awkward still, but we can't do anything about it. Let's just support her, whatever path she chooses :) I just wished she added more leather on her TCA outfit though.
Lucy Hale is another head turner that night and also a fantastic host. Congratulations for choosing the right pair of heels this time. Love you, Lucy!
If there's one thing that will change from Haley Williams, it would definitely be her hairstyle. I can't believe she's already 24 years old! Doesn't look like it though, I thought she was a bit younger. She's still really cute as ever! and thumbs up for the big fashion improvement :)
Lea Michele is a role model. I admire her courage for going up there and having that speech. Her speech brought me to tears because you can tell how much she truly loved Cory. It was really an emotional moment for everyone... On the brighter side, Lea's outfit was very fun and lovely! Apparently, the pink dress made her look 5 years younger :)
Sooo... who do you think deserve to win the award for TCA Head Turner 2013? :)
You Had Me At Hello x Giveaway Winners!
10 August 2013
Hello everyone! Wow, I can't believe its been a while since the last time I actually blogged. I've been really busy with college especially now that finals is just around the corner. Its like every week is hell week for me, that I barely hangout with my family and friends anymore :| But of course, Sunday is always my rest day so I make sure I find time to share something here in my blog.
Last week, I talked about goodbyes and the painful facts about it. This time I decided to turn the tables and share my thoughts about hellos :) I just watched a clip of You Had Me At Hello starring Jerry Maguire on You tube, and all I can say is that I was inspired by every word they blurt out in the movie especially Dicky Fox's line:
Dicky Fox: If this
[points to heart]
Dicky Fox: is empty, this
[points to head]
Dicky Fox: doesn't matter.
and Jerry and Dorothy's lines:
Jerry Maguire: I love you. You... complete me.
Dorothy: Shut up. Just shut up. You had me at "hello."
Dorothy: Shut up. Just shut up. You had me at "hello."
Waaah! I'm not in love or for that matter, anything near the subject but the movie surely made me feel kilig all over again. Which is a sad at the same time because I don't have any one to share it with. LOL! Anyway, what I'm saying here is never lose hope because someday... you will also have your own share of "you had me at hello" moments. You will have hundreds or maybe thousands of hellos in your whole life time but its crazy how one "hello" from an unexpected person can actually change your life forever. My advice? don't rush, make that one hello special and unforgettable ;)
La la la.. enough of the love advice and let's head on to my outfit for the day! What I'm wearing here is inspired by the movie "Nightmare Before Christmas". I think it would be nicer if I wear this on a Halloween but I was so excited to try on this referee pants and black bustier I got from Yohana... they were on sale so I got everything for 450.00. Such a steal!
Then I found this matching necklace from Bedazzled (just across Yohana's stall) which I bought for only 150.00. Yay for sale!
I finished my ensemble by adding more details...
Nude Litas from Parisian
Black Purse from Mango
Time to announce my 2 giveaway winners *cue the drum roll* By the way, thank you so much to everyone who joined! I still have more giveaways to come so don't lose hope ;) For those who won, congratulations! each of you will take home a pink Aztec sling bag from the fabulous Impulse Co.!!!
Message me your contact details here. Thank You and Stay Sassy! ❤
This Is About Goodbyes: 08-04-2013
3 August 2013
"This is about goodbyes" is an article by Jiggy and Jonty Cruz of The Philippine Star. Their article last Friday was very relatable in a lot of different ways and I've decided to share it with everyone here in my blog, especially to those who's still in the process of recovering from a painful goodbye. I'll be inserting few pictures with my family as well here, even if it TOTALLY got nothing to do with "goodbyes" :)
"As much as we miss the people who've mattered in our lives, we also miss the moments we’ll never have with them again. We’ll miss calling them late at night. We’ll miss going out on those random weekdays. We’ll miss all those Sunday reunions we’ll never have. It’s these moments that build who these people are to us. It’s these moments that we hold on to so tightly because we never want to forget them. It’s these moments that bring them back to us as if they never left.
There are moments in life, brief moments, unexpected moments, that we hold on to forever. We give those moments meaning. We make them more than what they are. It’s in these moments where we see the best of our existence. It’s when we define words like hope, love, and friendship. We hold these moments for as long as we can until inevitably there’s nothing left but to let go. And even then we refuse to do so. As much as it pains us, sometimes we have to let go of these moments. The moments will only be special because we know that at one point we have to let them go.
We choose who we love. It hits us by surprise but still we choose the people we want to be with. These are the people who make the moments great. When we’re with someone we love, nothing else matters. We make the most of the little time we have with them. And the time we do spend with those we love will always be little. It will never be truly enough. When we say goodbye to those that matter to us, it’s always a happy moment as well as a sad one. You’re happy you had it but we’re also sad that it’s over. Despite the loss, we keep at it. We keep building new friendships and strengthening those we already have. Because deep down, we all live for these relationships, these moments.
Even saying goodbye is a moment we hold dear. As painful as it is, we wouldn't trade it for anything. In fact, the more painful the goodbye, the stronger that relationship is. To simply end or give up when they’re gone is to dishonor the times you've had together. It’s a waste of the relationship you've built. Saying goodbye can either be an end or a beginning. And as cheesy as it sounds, it’s up to us to be strong enough to hold on to those moments that remind us that it’s better to continue on than it is to end."
We all have that moment when we have to say goodbye to someone or maybe to something, as painful as it looks, we all have to accept the fact and move on... This article brought out so much memories from the past and at the same time it made me realize how strong I am right now. For my family especially to my Mom and Dad, thank you so much for being there for me in times of trouble. I wouldn't be who I am right now, if it wasn't for you guys. Cliche'? maybe, but I mean it and I'm saying it from the bottom of my heart. I love you.
Have a blessed Sunday and Stay Sassy! ❤
