Weekly Haul #1
26 January 2013
After today, I can say that I’m a
certified shopaholic. Cheers to my first weekly haul post! This week has been
extra stressful for me, and the only way to relieve myself is to go shopping...
even if it means I’ll be broke for a month! Lol! I've spend so much this week
but it’s all worth atleast my hungry closet will be full of new purchases again! Yipee!
After Tonight, I Would Never Be The Same Again: 01-25-2013
25 January 2013
Have you ever had this feeling when you
found out that the people you trust and care the most are backstabbing you for
no reason at all... and just when you thought everything is okay, people will
start pulling you down. And the worst part is you don’t even have the slightest
idea what you did wrong to them. To be honest, I’m extremely upset right now and disappointed
at the same time. But whatever, I have no time to rant about these nonsense things
and especially not in here. Ugh I just seriously need my TRUE friends now :(
I just realized, my previous post is full of fun and excitement while this post is nothing but negative things... How ironic.
Don’t Worry, Be Happy: 01-24-2013
24 January 2013
This day couldn't get any
better! After days of working on my blog, I finally got to put it all together
:) I was scared I might not finish it just in time for my next giveaway
announcement! OOPS. Spoiler alert! Anyway, I always wanted to wear this
Disney sweater that was given to me by my friend but I wasn't confident enough
because I’m scared I might end up a looking like I'm trying too hard. Nevertheless,
I took the risk and experiment! I did some color blocking though, like I matched
green with pink and dark blue and added a little bit of neutral which is the
bronze detachable collar. Finally, my fear of experimenting colors and textures
was alleviated after seeing myself on the mirror. Can’t wait to experiment
more!
Denim on a Friday; 01-18-2013
23 January 2013
Last
Friday, I went to Greenbelt to watch Les Miserables with my gals. It was the
best movie I watched so far! Nope, I’m not going to spoil it. You should watch
it if you haven’t yet! :p Anyway, the day before our planned movie date I wasn't feeling very well. I felt really sick
and lazy that I barely move! Because of that I became unsure whether we are
still going to push through or not but; nevertheless, I still had in mind what I
would wear if ever God will heal me just in time for our movie bonanza.
Luckily, he did!
Denim
on denim look is not what I had in mind. To be honest, I was just thinking of wearing something casual yet stylish like loose top, shorts and doc martens
shoes (you know, the usual) and just add accessories to give life to the outfit
but because I felt rebellious (and cold, lol!) that day I wanted to try a Cher
Lloyd look. I tried literally every black top I have in my closet to match with
my Abercrombie shorts but I ended up
wearing this gray tank top from Victoria
Secret and cover it up with my denim jacket from Esprit. At first, I thought it was a bit off and I look like a
complete prostitute (own opinion) because
I realized I’m showing off so much of my
skin, so instead of wearing black pants I decided to wear this black stockings
I got from Forever 21 under the
denim shorts and see if it would give a more conservative touch to my ootd.
And
the result:
Mommy Knows Best: 01-19-13
18 January 2013
My
style inspiration for today is my Mom :) oh wait, not only today but I guess
for my whole life now! My mom has always been there for me and she’s like my
personal fashion police. If you know what I mean. She pretty much know what
clothes would look better on me and
as a very straight forward person, she never hesitates to tell me if I
look horrible. Growing up with 4 brothers and no sister/s at all I tend to act
really boyish sometimes for some reasons but my mom never gave up on me she “taught”
me how a real lady should be and if it wasn't for her, I wouldn't be blogging
right now. My mom also taught me to be confident in myself and always put smile
on my face because for her confidence and a smile is the best accessory.

2013 Style Pick
13 January 2013
This year I've decided to have a different approach in my looks though I'm an eclectic type of person I wanted to stick with one specific style. My style has always been full of girly pieces but this year I'd like to give rebel with a touch of classy and preppy style a shot. Classic ensemble of Black and White and even Gold (rebel colors) are always in style but If I do give it a try I'm going to keep it current with surprising twists and maybe execute the B&W look my way.
Cher Lloyd is divine! Do you think I could pull off something like this? :)
Letting your style evolve is a great way because you get to introduce new pieces into your wardrobe and it can also be an advantage to people who wants to be stylists in the future. It's alright to just stick with one specific style as long as you're comfortable with it, but courageously stepping out of your comfort zone is another story.
Have a nice day && stay sassy! x

TGIF Shoot feat. Nicole Silva; 01-11-13
11 January 2013
Meet my model-in-the-making BFF Nicole Silva
[Dress: Soiree', Accessories: It's A Girl Thing Manila]
Black dresses will never go wrong but if you don't know what trendy pieces/accessories to match with the outfit there will be possibilities that you would look dull or boring. The secret with black is you should know what to match it with and you should make sure the accessory goes well with the ensemble so as to give an extra oomph to the outfit!
Nicole looks absolutely stunning in this floral dress from Soiree. What do you think? :)
I had an amazing time being the stylist and photographer of the day!
I just had to include this! Hahaha! Bea, my crazy BFF and the "photo bomber of the day" Cute!
That's me and my model! :)

Something Vintage: 01-10-13
10 January 2013
I wanted to see if I could pull off a vintage look or the "T Swift look" as others call it. Yes, I'm a risk-taker. My idea of "vintage look" is a combination of neutral colors like brown, white and black so in this look I wore the faded Brown Dress from Soiree' then match it with a Fishnet Stockings and the Gold Flats I recently bought in Parisian. My first plan was to wear my Brogues Shoes since I thought it would perfectly match with the Hat but I don't know there was something with the shoes and I didn't like the outcome :( I don't know... maybe because the brogues was to big for me not sure. Anyway, what do you think?
Another adorable necklace from Accessory Story :)
Hello from the Kitty! ;)

Shades of Pink: 01-09-13
9 January 2013
Oh
noo... school starts again tomorrow, that means long break is over! I don’t
want... just yet. Haha! but I can’t do anything about it might as well enjoy
the last day of the long break. *sniff
It
is hard to pull off this kind of shawl actually but I took the risk and bring my "styling power" to the next level. When I asked my mom what she thinks if I wear this
pink shawl alone, she said I would definitely look like an old lady but still
pretty. Okay that is a very bad compliment, so I wanted to prove her wrong by
adding some twists to it. I've tried the bottoms you could think of in my
closet (shorts, skirts and jeans) but I ended up wearing this leather leggings.
At first I didn't actually thought I would pull it off both the shawl and the
leggings but when I showed my mom she smiled and said now I look like “Hannah
Montana but better”. Oh I like the sound of that.
If you’re questioning why
Hannah Montana out of all the rock star ish girls out there well because the
leather leggings I’m wearing is from Miley Cyrus herself! I actually bought
this in e-bay back when I was in Grade 6 or 1st year high school, oh gosh she was
like my Goddess back then! Haha you know what makes me even more happy? I
bought this 5 years ago and it still fits me now I’m in 1st year college! Aha!
“An
outfit without accessories is like an eye without eyelashes.” – The Sassy
Theory
Last
month my sponsor Be Always Fierce gave me a chance to choose 5 accessories from
their shop for free! I was so happy when I got ‘em. In this look I wore the 3 accessories I chose, the necklace and the
2 bracelets. I like how the accessories matches puuuurfectly with the
pink shawl and the pink Aztec wedge. Well, I’m not surprised : ) Thank you so
much for this BAF!! x
Too
much pink is not bad, right? : )

The Sassy Theory: How to maintain smooth skin.
8 January 2013
A lot of people on Ask has been asking me stuff about my skin like how do I maintain my smooth skin or how do I make it glow (lol) . I'm not sure if it was a sarcasm or a group message, whatever their reason is my answer was always; Nature Scrub. I'm not fond of buying commercial face scrubs or even go to dermas! For the record, I haven't been in a derma before not even once! Anyway, to end all curiosity I would love to share with you girlies my secret! I suggest this to all girls and boys who are on a tight budget but at the same time wants to maintain their smooth skin :)
1. All you need is brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon/lemon juice and a small bowl or container
Face scrubs offers many benefits. Not only does it feel refreshing and invigorating, but it also cleans and exfoliates dry skin, removes toxins and improves circulation.
2. Put the cinnamon and the brown sugar together in a small container then squeeze the lemon to get its juice
3. Stir using your finger to mix the ingredients. Make sure you don't put too much of everything. Always estimate :) after mixing for 2 minutes, you're all set!
4. Using this Nature Scrub we just made gently massage your face for 5-10 mins then leave it for another 10 mins. Pay special attention to dry and rough areas!
Easy? Try it out!
Stay Sassy! xx
Ask me a question ♥
6 January 2013
Hey everyone!! So I finally decided to sign up in ask.fm (for blog purposes). You can ask me for fashion tips and advices or even my personal life, I'm ready to answer all of 'em! : )
Here are some questions that was asked by my curious readers : )
1. hello ate saskia, may question
lang po ako... unique po kasi ng name niyo eh tska ang ganda pati rin po yung
blog name nyo na “The Sassy Theory”. curious lang aku. paano mo poh naisip yung
name na “The Sassy Theory” anu po yung start? thanks po. (Translation:
Hello Ate Saskia, I have a question. I found your name unique and
beautiful same as with your blog name "The Sassy Theory". I'm just
curious, how did you come up with that blog name? how did it start?
Thank you)
Answer:
Hello! My first blog name was “My Fashion World” but I found
it too cliche’. So I thought of changing it, the first thing I wanted it to be
is unique and unusual and at the same time catchy. Ever since a lot of people
have been calling me Sassy for some reason, maybe because of the Sas in the
Saskia or really because I’m a very
cheeky and sassy person. I’m not sure. Whatever their reason of calling me
such, I want to put Sassy in my blog name. It took me a while to think of a
really nice blog name, til one day I was re-reading my physics notes then I saw the word “Theory” and POOF! it
suddenly gave me an idea to put “Sassy”
and “Theory” together. Why not diba? I mean, it is not only unique but it also
made me look like a science geek (which I really am not, obvs) Haha! So that’s
it : ) I Hope I answered your question! x
2.
What do you think is the worst
trend of 2012?
Answer: I hate to say this but I think
it is the Head-to-toe-leather look (in the Philippines). I do love leathers, a lot, but wearing it
here in our country is as terrible as eating a rotten fruit salad. Those still
wearing it must be sweating balls right now! (own opinion) x
3. Hello there The Sassy
Theorist! I have few questions for you! What is you opinion about brogues and
loafers?
Answer:
Ahoy there! : ) brogues and
loafers are for me the only shoes that would make you look “cool” without
looking like you care. In other words, effortless shoes : ) It comes with
different colors and designs, so its really up to you if you can match it with
a perfect outfit. My only advice is don’t go too overboard with those shoes! :
) x
So there! Do you have some questions in mind? Don't hesitate to ask me here!! xx
Cheers! 01-01-13
3 January 2013
Happy New Year! Woaah! I didn't notice I haven’t been updating my
blog for a while now. Guess I was really busy this past few days, like
preparing for my FIRST EVER BLOG GIVEAWAY! Anyway,
how was everybody’s New Year? was it FUUN? I bet it was! Mine was craaazy. I
had to admit a was a little bit sloshed that night and in my non compos mentis
mode, that I forgot everything that happened @-) make the most of out of the
last day of the year they say. So I did.
Here in the Philippines, we have a lot of “pamahiin” or superstitions. Every New Year we always put 12 different kinds of
fruit on our table, they represent the 12 months of the year. We believe that
if we follow this pamahiin it will bring good luck and prosperity in our family
for the whole year. It is a polka dot fashion every new year here in my country
but my family doesn't really follow this pamahiin, instead, we wear the lucky color of the year. For 2013 the lucky
color is YELLOW.
2012 turned out to be my year despite the things that happened during the first quarter of last year. I made a lot of mistakes but I learned from it. This year, I will never make the same mistake again because It is like watching history repeat itself and I don't want that to happen. We all do. I don't believe in New Year's Resolution maybe for fun but not to make it as my guide to everything. I believe that we don't need to wait for New Year before we set new goals or things that we need to erase from our lives, we should start now : ) . Everyday is a new day and I always keep that in mind, I don't wait for tomorrow to start fresh again. That is one of the things I learned this year. Anyway, thank you so much for your unending support! I wouldn't be in my position right now if It wasn't for you. Thank you for your sweeeeeet comments, I may not be replying to some of them but I would like to let you know that I smile while reading them and it definitely makes my day :) I love you all!
HAPPY NEW YEAR! x
