Denim on a Friday; 01-18-2013

23 January 2013

Last Friday, I went to Greenbelt to watch Les Miserables with my gals. It was the best movie I watched so far! Nope, I’m not going to spoil it. You should watch it if you haven’t yet! :p Anyway, the day before our planned movie date I wasn't feeling very well.  I felt really sick and lazy that I barely move! Because of that I became unsure whether we are still going to push through or not but; nevertheless, I still had in mind what I would wear if ever God will heal me just in time for our movie bonanza. Luckily, he did!

Denim on denim look is not what I had in mind. To be honest, I was just thinking of wearing something casual yet stylish like loose top, shorts and doc martens shoes (you know, the usual) and just add accessories to give life to the outfit but because I felt rebellious (and cold, lol!) that day I wanted to try a Cher Lloyd look. I tried literally every black top I have in my closet to match with my Abercrombie shorts but I ended up wearing this gray tank top from Victoria Secret and cover it up with my denim jacket from Esprit. At first, I thought it was a bit off and I look like a complete prostitute (own opinion)  because I realized I’m showing off so much of my skin, so instead of wearing black pants I decided to wear this black stockings I got from Forever 21 under the denim shorts and see if it would give a more conservative touch to my ootd.

And the result:

[Denim Jacket: EDC Esprit, Denim Shorts: Abercrombie and Fitch, Gray Tank Top: Victoria Secret, Spiked Necklace & Spiked Rings: It’s A Girl Thing Manila]

To give a more rebel feel to the outfit I matched it with these gold spiked accessories from It's A Girl Thing Manila

If you want to wear something over the top but scared that others might laugh or criticize you for some silly reasons, hmm THAT’S OLD SCHOOL. Always remember we are living in a generation where everyone is comfortable being themselves. Instead of them laughing at you they will start looking up to you and maybe even imitate you, which is a good thing it just simply means you are really that inspiring and influential. So just be yourself and always be confident! ;)

That’s Me, Bea and Nicole my uber crazy bffs. Hahaha! It’s pretty obvious I’m not the only one feeling rebellious that day ;)
