Trip to the North: Bell Tower, Bantay, Ilocos Sur
25 December 2013
It was on December 21, my family and I decided to escape from the stressful and busy city life and explore the wonderful places in the Northern part of the country. At first, I was a little hesitant to go out of town for the holiday but I realized it was a golden opportunity (yes, I'm exaggerating) and it's not every year we get to celebrate Christmas with our Dad.
We left Manila at around 3 AM. We decided to leave early since we'll be travelling by land and the road trip going to Ilocos Norte will take us more than 12 hours. I'm not surprised since my family and I are used to taking really long trips, the farthest we've traveled by land was in Sagada and it took us 13 hours of leisurely drive to get there! Anyway, our first stop was at the Bell Tower located at Bantay, Ilocos Sur.
We were greeted by local veterans who shared with us a brief history of the church and the bell tower. The Bantay Church (also known as St. Augustine Parish) and the bell tower is one of the famous landmarks of the town and it's a MUST see. I was in awe just looking at the design of the tower and how well it was built. But you won't really appreciate the beauty until you go inside and witness the wonderful view of the town from that lofty vista. Such a great piece of the Philippine history!
What I'm wearing: cropped top (Bershka), denim short jumpsuit (Gap), boots (Landmark), shades (Sunnies by Charlie)
Can you believe it? I got this stylish boots for only Php 600.00. This is the only shoes in my collection that I can wear under the rain without worrying about breaking it. Versatility, durability and practicality at its finest!
I took this shot and I'm VERY PROUD of it. Hahaha! This photo reminds me so much of Hogwarts in Harry Potter, maybe because of the architectural design of the church or from the ambient lighting. Pardon my digression, but I really miss watching Harry Potter movies and being a kid... if only I can go back and enjoy every bit of it again.
Just a thought; It's paradoxical that as a kid we can't wait to grow up, but then as an adult now how we wish we were kids again. Strange, isn't it?
And here's Jiddu praying (?) inside the Bantay Church and imitating his "kaloka-like" Zaijan Jaranilla or Santino
To end our first day in the North, here's my shot of the sunset. Hope you like it!
Stay Sassy and Merry Christmas Everybody! ♥♥♥

Peace & Love
13 December 2013
I'm so happy! Hell week is finally over for me. All those sleepless nights and stress finally paid off - I thank God for getting me through this week. Now it's time to focus and get back to my normal routine. That includes: blogging and taking pictures again! Yay!
An anonymous asker asked me this morning; "why do people enjoy raining on my parade rather than be happy for me?" Here's what I can say, some people's lives are so screwed, when they see the opportunity to downsize your accomplishments it makes them feel better. One reason could be, people are jealous and envious when they see others who don't have to struggle living it up or being lavished with opportunities that they can't have. They do all the nasty things they could think of to make you feel miserable. The solution? just take pride that you are doing something they don't have the guts to do. Eventually they'll realize ruining your life won't make them any better. Agree? Share your thoughts in the comment box below!
Now onto my outfit for the day...
I'm inspired yet again to channel out my inner bohemian to school. A big thank you to my newest international sponsor - Mart of China for the loose top and tribal print leggings
Topped off this whole bohemian ensemble by wearing my all-time favorite boots!
What do you think? :)

Do you catch yourself in a situation where you feel really happy and optimistic? Then all of a sudden the next day, you feel extremely low and out-of place? Well, that happens. At first, I thought I have some kind of serious bipolar disorder but then I found out that almost all teenagers had felt the same thing at some point. For example, my situation, yesterday I felt so happy about how everything went. I had that I-am-on-top-of-the-world moment and I couldn't stop smiling. Then today, didn't go well as compared to yesterday. Just when I thought things were running smoothly, someone had to "intentionally" ruin it. That's when I concluded, it's not possible to be happy all the time. You can get to a point in your life where you're happy with the way things are (like career, family, friends), but to be happy all the time is not possible. I learned that sadness comes and it's okay to be wishy washy at this age. Now, onto my outfit for today...
Basically, my look is inspired by Emma Watson's shoot for Teen Vogue! I wanted to see if I could pull off a print-on-print outfit without looking like I'm trying too hard. I would normally say no to most pattern mixing but I liked how the two patterns really complement each other without clashing at all. Here's a tip: It's alright to mix patterns as long as they have a similar color, scale and patterns.
I topped off my #ootd by wearing this elegant necklace from SM Accessories and lovely shades from Sunnies by Charlie. What do you think?
Top: Forever 21

Not now or will their ever be anyone who always keeps a smile on every minute of every hour of every day. It is quite impossible simply because people will go through difficult times. But then at some point, we all have to accept the harsh reality of life and move on from it. Smiling is the only way out... :)
Oh hi Cyd! ☺
Never Give Up
4 December 2013
Whyyy hello everyone?! Long time, no write! Really glad to be back :) This past few months have been a torment. I never thought college would be this stressful. Imagine having only 3 hours of sleep everyday for 2 weeks? and it's not even my thesis year yet!
So today is a bittersweet day. I arrived at school 10 minutes late, a drunk guy near the bus stop was trying to molest me (not literally but you know...) and I was busy stressing over our drama play in literature class. I'm an inch away from giving up, but I thought "what's the point?" I mean, God put me in this position for a reason. It was just up to me whether to deal with it or not. Fortunately, with a help of my close friend (Hey Ale!), I had all my work done in a snap. And you know what's even sweeter? My group got a 3.5 in the drama play, it's a huge achievement for us! Our professor even mentioned that out of all the classes she handled, we are best group so far. Not being boastful or anything but my group really blew me away. So so proud of them!
I just had to share this one - Wanted: A Chaperon Cast.

Prologue: A Multimedia Arts Graduate Show
29 November 2013
What I love about College is, it is the only time that you get to experience living on-campus, partying, having a flexible student/work schedule and making memorable moments with the people you meet. I remember back in high school, I wasn't so excited to go to college unlike everyone else. I was afraid that people might misjudge me or I might not keep up with the workload and just give up. Only to realize college isn't exactly what I thought it was. Though the first thing I really noticed was the workload. It was heavier and more intense than I ever experienced before. The major challenges was the large volume of reading, the short deadlines, and the writing, writing, writing. But despite all that, I get to make really amazing friends and got to experience bunch of things that I haven't experienced before. College is what you make of it they say. I'm glad that I made the right choices and grabbed all the opportunities given to me.
[Top: The Ramp, Pants: Abercombrie & Fitch, Flats: Charles & Keith, Bag: Michael Kors]
College is a turning point for everyone. It’s that time when you’re
too old to be young, but too young to be old—a place of confusion,
milestones, and decisions.
To say that college is “hard” is simply an understatement. But people
who’ve graduated seem to be more than willing to go back to the stress
of thesis, deadlines, and exams. Is “real life” really that scary?
However, that blurry place may not be so forbidding, only if we realize
that all the bookish theories they taught us are only as important as
the lessons we learned outside the classroom: that people will come and
go, that there will always be a solution to a problem even if it takes
two terms to find it, and that learning does not end when we finally
march and get our diplomas.
Inspired by the moments that made up this memorable time in life, 19 graduating students from the AB Multimedia Arts program of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde
recount their experiences through multimedia artworks and
installations, hoping to inspire those who are still running for that
deadline, those who have capped their college years, and those who find
nostalgia in their alma mater.
The exhibit aims to poke fun at concepts that reference collegiate life,
including experiences cramming, friendships, and nightmare professors,
and also to shed light on the realities of post-graduation scares such
as job-hunting, quarter-life crisis, and going after your true
ambitions.
On December 2 & 3 at Black Market Manila,
witness their stories from college—the Prologue to real life, and
beyond. Let us all come and support our young artists in this wonderous
effort to showcase their works!
Hope to see you there and Stay Sassy! ♥

When it comes to dressing up I really have a hard time sticking to one style. Some people call it "experimenting" I call it major dilemma. I don't know why, but I always catch myself jumping from one style to another or sometimes its a mix of everything. I've been like this since forever and if you ask me I find it extremely weird...

Candy Fair 2013
5 October 2013
Hey everyone! As most of you have probably noticed, I've stopped blogging for some time (more precisely for 3 weeks). Any particular reasons? Not really. These past few weeks has just been a roller coaster ride which forced me to sacrifice some of my blogging time and more. Nonetheless, I'm baaack! Hopefully, for good now...
Me and my best friend Nicole are what you call "true-blue candy girls", call any Candy Event and we're totally up for that! It all started summer last year during the first ever Candy Style Awards and the amazing time we had there made us come back for more. 17 September 2013
Hey everyone! How are you all been doing? Sorry, but I'm going to make this post a little quick than the usual. As you all know this is a late overdue post, I was supposed to publish this 3 days ago but apparently it obliterate from my mind due to massive college workload... (excuses, excuses). Well, I'm not here to rant about my college life over and over and over again, I'm pretty sure you all understand where I'm coming from.
